Hi There!!!
Thanks for Choosing Just Answer...
Normally a diesel unit will cost a little bit more. The big difference is a diesel engine the horsepower peaks at a lower RPM which means there is more torque at a lower RPM compared to a gas unit. This will mean the diesel will tow much better then a gasoline unit, so if you will be towing I would consider that. You will also get better gas mileage with a diesel unit but more routine maintence and the cost of filters fluid capacities are usually greater.
It is also difficult when you buy a unit used, I would recommend having a mechanic do an inspection prior to purchase, drive both units and see what feels best to you. From experience owners that do routine maintenance usually have less problems in the long term, I would ask for receipts of repairs etc... Hope this helps, If you have more questions or concerns please feel free to contact me..
