Info Request

Hello. I will try to assist you with this. Do you have the bluetooth unit that plugs into the phone port in the center console or do you have the bluetooth option in your i-drive? I believe on this year it is a function of the TCU and it should be in the i-drive. Also, can you explain the exact problem...the pairing is unsuccessful and you get a message that the pairing failed when attempted?

These questions should help me or another expert help you further. Thank you.

hi i have iphone 3g and i tried to do it with idrive .blue t.works paring work just pk is not right.its saying wrong code on iphone.

Accepted Answer

The TCU (telephone communication unit) does have a PK code that should have been included in the vehicle. However, if the TCU was replaced at any point in the vehicles life the PK would no longer be accurate. And I hate to say the a TCU is a component that is quite often replaced. The only the way to get the PK code is to have a dealer read it out of the TCU with their equiptment. On thing to try is to also shut down your I phone and take the battery out and then try to repair. I have seen I phones need a battery reset at times to then be able to pair to a vehicle. The only other way to get the PK or verify the existing PK would be to remove the TCU and check the sticker on the back. The tcu is located in the trunk on the left side behind the trunk panel (not the easy one but the one that trims need to be dissassembed to get to the module.) I could try to find removal instructions if you would like to do this and post them for you if you want to do it yourself.
