In direct answer to your question :

1. Most female dogs have their first season round about the six months to seven months of age mark, although it can be variable. After that she will come into season each six months for the rest of her life, there is no menopause for dogs by the way.

2. A dog will be in season for around 3 weeks and the onset of the season would be marked by bleeding and swollen genitalia. A dog will normally conceive between day 11 and day 13 counting day 1 as the day of the season. Dog breeders who do this for a living will often double mate their bitches, once on day 11 and once on day 13. Although if you leave the dog with the bitch for four or five days during this period that would be good as well.
