Hi, My husband installed a new Chamberlain garage door opener several months ago. Last evening, the door began opening and closing, sporadically, by itself, as though someone else had gotten hold of a controller or at least the codes for the controller. What can I do? My husband travels and this freaking me out???? shirley

Do you have the book ?
Make sure the small eyes on the bottom are lighned up there should be a small green light on the back of them

No I don't have the book. My husband threw it away after he installed the unit. It was installed several months ago, and we've never had any problems with it. On the sensors, one light is green, one is amber. Does that help?

He's in Missouri now, and I'm in NC. No I doubt it, but I went online and found the Chamberlain sight and printed out the instructions. I just wasn't sure that was the appropriate thing to do. Do you, too, think someone has gained control of my codes? I have the info to erase all codes from motor unit memory, but it says I'll need to reprogram them, and that I don't have the info to do without the instruction manual. Besides, this box is over the car and I cannot climb. Do you know how to re-program the remotes? The unit came with two remotes and I have both of them in my possession.

I went to the webpage, and I have the written instructions. It's possible that I can get a neighbor to come over and reprogram. Is this what I need to do? Do I need to reprogram both remotes?

I looks that way what i would do first is pull down on the handel that is hanging down this will disengage the door and you will be able to open and close it manually
This will allow you to get your car out of the way
Then go back to the url i supplied and click on your remote to see what you have to do as far as reprogramming them

I could not get to that url. My browser would not go there. Don't know why. If I do manage to reprogram the two remotes that I have, and erase all codes from memory, would that include any codes that someone else might have programmed into another remote of theirs?
