Question

I have a 13 month old Dynex model# DX-PDP42-09. Thursday the power was on the picture was perfect and the next moment the screen was blank. After careful inspection with a flashlight I noticed a crack on the right had side of the screen. It looks like a spider 3 inches long. Can this be repaired? Please help it is almost football season and my husband is blaming me for the TV.

Called Best Buy, was told it would cost as much to fix as to buy a new TV. This is not a option right now.

Hi,

I want to apologize first for the bad news I will give you!.

The crack on your panel is NOT repairable.The plasma display panel is trashed!

This panel is made with a low pressure vacuum inside(like a fluorescent tube-once broken it cannot be repaired,just replaced).

Once it cracks ,all the vacuum is gone..the tv will need the plasma display replaced.

The panel is available at mcmelectronics.com,but its price is over $1500.

At this price you can buy a new tv.
