Question

I bought a neoprem seatcover for the back seat of a 2007 BMW3 228 sedan and want to know how to tack the top half of the back seat out to install it?

tried to remove it. I removed the bottom cushion.

Hello,

 

I will provide you the instructions below. If you can't get the top latch released as described you can remove the bolts holding the latch in and re-install in the opposite way.(sometimes it may be easier with 2 people to line the latch up.) Hope this helps.

Insert screwdriver for levering in snap-in hole of rear seat lock. Press screwdriver to centre of vehicle and in so doing press supporting point (1) of Bowden cable outwards.

Necessary preliminary tasks:
• Remove rear seat
• Release lock on backrest (emergency actuation)

Release screws (1). Tightening torque 52 24 01AZ. Tilt backrest forwards and lift backrest with guides (2) out of partition wall. Installation: Make sure guides (2) on left and right are correctly seated in partition wall.

Remove head restraints. Cover door sill with protective cover (risk of damage). Lift out backrest and feed out of seat belts.

Fold back head restraint (1) and move upwards to max. extent. Press lock (2) and pull out head restraint. Note: Middle head restraint partially very difficult to move. Cover upholstery and moisten guides with Teflon spray. Pull out head restraint in stages by movements on left/right
