Why does my AM radio have so much static on the 2001 BMW 325i?

Already Tried:
Just flipping through the dial. Only hear screeching noises on most stations that are AM.

BMW in general dont have good AM reception. (There is no AM radio in germany). You can try cleaning the inside of the rear glass this could help.

What do you mean, inside of the rear glass? Are you saying that another system, like Harmon Kardon, would not work either for A/m?

Your AM antenna is part of the heater grid for the rear window defroster dirt or tint can effect the already poor reception of the AM radio. So I mean you try to clean the inside part of the rear window where the defroster is. Harmon Kardon is just upgraded speakers and larger amplifer it is still the same radio.
