Just a few questions to help figur out what is going on...
Have you had any starting problems before the battery went dead?
Do you have a aftermarket alarm on the truck?
Is it an automatic transmission?
Please let me know and we'll figure out what is going on....
Thanks Carguyjosh
Before performing the test below, please charge the battery completely.....
The starter motor is the most likely cause of your problem...
If you have a test light or multi-meter, what I would like you to do is:
From underneath the vehicle:
I need you to connect your tester to the purple(small diameter) wire going to the starter..With the helper, have them turn the ignition to the crank position...
Does your tester show that there is power present? If so, check the battery cable connection to the starter, is it good and clean?
With your tester does it show power?
If you have power on the purple wire and a good clean positive cable connection at the starter, The starter itself is no good.....
Please let me know what you find.....
