Question

We are replacing our tile in our kitchen with new granite tile. we also purchase new applainces that are the same size existing ones we have now. My question is the new applainces won't be in until after the granite is installed (except the new sink will be installed with the new granite) will their be a problem?

Answer

Hi XXXXXXXXXXXX
You didn't say what you are tiling, the floor, the back splash? I will assume you mean the floor since the back splash isn't usually tiled until after the coutertop is in. The only issue with tiling the floor is that if you raise the height of the floor you may have a problem getting the dishwasher in. If you are tearing out the old tile then the difference in height won't be significant. If you are going over an existing floor you need to be sure that the height of the opening for the dishwasher is high enough for your new dishwasher to fit.

Sorry, we are having new granite tile on the counters and island not the floor.

Accepted Answer

OK. The only issue then would be the height of the range. You will be adding at least 1/2" to the height of the countertop. Typical kitchen counter height is 36" so 36 1/2" is most likely a height that your range can achieve by extending the leveling legs. The should be no other issues.
