Info Request

Hi: Thanks for coming to Just Answer with your question. May I ask if this just started happening or has it always been this way since you've owned the coach? Has anyone been doing anything else with the wiring lately? I will look forward to hearing back from you. All the best, R.J.

always since i owned it. someone has definitely done something to the water pump. maybe just a replacement maybe more but there are those twist on connectors on the wiring and they look newer than anything else up under there.

Hi: It sounds like someone was doing some creative wiring to be sure. I've never seen one wired that way. Perhaps there was a problem and they chose just the easiest place to get power for the pump because they couldn't solve the problem. There are several ways to correct this. First, you need to trace out the red wire from the pump and see how they got to the ignition switch. If the pump is anywhere near the load center, you could go into that and use a non-used fuse and hook it up there, but depending on your level of expertise, you may just want to go directly to the battery and install it with a 15 amp fuse. The house batteries would be better, that way you won't take a chance on running down your starting battery. There should be a power source near the pump that you could use. You may ask any follow-up questions you feel necessary to get your answer. Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to assist you.

All the best, R.J.
