my grandaughter had a big toe that looks infected then we noticed a small spot on her head where theres a bald spot.a Dr. gave her antibiotic for her to take,and ointment for her toe,and fungal shampoo for her head.She had a thyroid test about 6 months ago.She has down syndrome.Her toe looks better but still red,her bald spot is the same.Should we see another dr. it has been about 2 weeks? thank you

She is being treated quite according to procedure.

The antibiotics have already helped with her infection.

The antifungal shampoo will take some time to have effect. Two weeks is perhaps a bit short to see some change.

You should continue with the anti-fungal shampoo for 2 weeks more by which time you should see some improvement. If there is no improvement you can consult a dermatologist for the bald spot, it could also be alopecia areata in which case the antifungals will not help and she will need steroid injections at the spot. You can also discuss about alopecia areata with your present doctor.
