Question

old dell speakers died when stepdown trasformer secondarry shorted, installed new speakers and there is no sound. my question is , did this damage the sound card?

Thanks for your question.
Follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem.

System restore process restores your computer to a previous date.. So if you didnt have this problem few days ago this should solve the problem.. System restore can be undone if needed. Its advisable to first backup the files.

To restore the system to a previous date follow these steps.
Go to START then ALL PROGRAMS then ACCESSORIES then SYSTEM TOOLS then SYSTEM RESTORE then restore my computer to an earlier date.


If this doesnt help Insert the Drivers CD that you got with the computer and reinstall AUDIO Drivers.
and restart the computer.
