Question

I just brought a used car form the dealer 5 days ago, they just called me telling me that the bank doesn't want me in the car i got. They want me in a newer car. My new car is a 2006 they want me in a 2009 or something that range. Question if they are trying to do this to make me get a more expensive car can i just turn in the car and go some where else. OR do i have to get the newer car. I was ok with the payments. I want the car i have I am not the one backing out of the contract they are.

You're going to live and die by what's written in that contract, XXXXXXXX.

If the sale is "contingent" on you getting financing, you might be able to back out of the deal and pay only the "fair rental" value of using the car for a few days.

If the sale is NOT contingent on you getting financing, start looking to get your own.

This claim sounds fishy. See whether the dealership will give it to you in writing, including what bank "wants" you in a newer car, and who at the bank said so. Make your request in writing, with a means to prove delivery (e-mail is often great, IF sent to the right worker there--otherwise certified mail, return receipt).

If no answer comes in 3 business days (call to see whether the letter is sent, and take notes of who said what to you at what time on what day from what phone number you called), then contact your state's regulatory agency in charge of automobile dealerships and file a complaint ASAP.

Thank you.

BAB.
