Question

I have a 1995 corsica. It has started blowing fuses when you turn on the A/C. When the fuse blows the power door locks ans speed odemeter also stops working. Replace the fuse and everything will work and the A/C will start cooling again but only to blow the fuse again in a few minutes. Iwould appreciate any advise on what to do to fix this problem. Thanks

Answer

It seems that this fuse that controls the a/c clutch is the same as the door lock and gauges. Try to unplug the compressor clutch at the clutch , and then turn the A/C on. if the fuse does not blow now, you might have a shorted compressor clutch, causing a high amp draw condition. you can replace the clutch and coil. but ussually the compressor is not far behind. make sure it turns freely. need a special puller and installer.

Hope this helps
