Question

The brake lights, turn signals & hazards on my 1997 Checy Lumina are not working. This has happened once before; I had all the fuses checked - not the problem, and then as crazy as it sounds, I got back into my car and everything worked fine! Then one day last week it happened again, excpet this time all has stayed off... what's going on?

Answer

Hello and welcome to Just Answer!

Try pressing the hazard switch halfway down. Watch the turn signals indicators on the gage cluster to see if the lights come on. Fidget around with the hazard switch also to

see if anything happens. Usually there is a connection issue inside the hazard switch assembly and the turn signal/hazard switch assembly will need to be replaced. The brake lamp switch at the pedal runs through the turn signal switch assembly.
