Hello!

Welcome to justanswer!

Do yo have a compression gauge available to you?

Reply

i checked the compression before and after and still is reading zero- is it possible to be off? the cam gear was about 15 degress off when i lined them up before i took it apart

Answer

Ok, if you are 100 percent sure the cam timing is right then the head has some bent valves in it.

is there a way to check to see if the cam timing is right? there lined up with the tenisor marks-any possible way to be 180 out or whichever?

Posted by Anthony 96 days and 18 hours ago.

Answer

If it was exactly 180 out it would still work. Do you want to see a diagram of the marks?

96 days and 18 hours ago.

Reply

no thats okay-i already got a diagram of the timing marks-just couldnt find anything on it to see if this engine was a intereference or not-so it wouldnt matter if the cam was out by 180 or not - so it wouldnt help any if i took off the chain again rotated the crank any? either way thanks for your time

Info Request

Ok, so you did the marks exactly like the diagram you have?

96 days and 18 hours ago.

Reply

yes they did-but im not sure if they right on the inside of the engine or not - seeing that the chain jumped already before i torn it down- like if the crank gear was off by a rotation or not- isnt it like 2 rotations for the crank towards one rotation of the cam gear? like turning the engine over twice? hopefully that makes sense

Info Request

Ok, when you did the chain, were the marks facing each other?

96 days and 18 hours ago.

Reply

yes like the diagram shows them- if the crank gear was off by a rotation- number 1 wouldnt be top dead center would it?

Posted by Anthony 96 days and 18 hours ago.

Info Request

Yes, if the marks were facing each other. Where your marks facing each other when you did the chain?

96 days and 18 hours ago.

Reply

when i first torn it down- the crank gear XXXX XXned up with the mark on the tenisor- the cam gear mark was off around 10 to 15 degress off to the left from the tenisor mark- i took off the gears and chain and replaced the the tensior- re-installed cam gear and rotated the cam gear clockwise to line back up with the tenisor mark and re-installed the chain and still has no compresson

Answer

You have bent valves in the cylinder head. Do you need instructions on how to do the head?

96 days and 18 hours ago.

Reply

if you have them, that would be great-thanks

Info Request

Ok, these procedures show how to remove and replace the head. They dont show how to do the valves. You will have to have a machine shop do the valves. Do youy still want the procedures?
