We will use the alreading existing 4/12 galvalume roof. The interior finish will be polonia wood. We don't know about venting.....any suggestions? Also, could several coats of oil based paint used on the underside of the galvalume act as a moisture barrier to keep the metal from sweating?
Thanks,
retroman

Hello .. I thought from your post that you were building a building over the existing .. anyway .,, the only sure way to eliminate condensation on the inside of any roof .,. is to eliminate the moisture .. stop the moist air inside the house from getting into the space and against the roof .. and you will stop the condensation .. so the usuall methods are to have a very tight ceiling at gthat level ,, and to have a vapor barier ,and to insulate the ceilin ,, and to have the roof space vented to let any moist air out .. painting the metal will just delay the condensation ,, even wood construction will form condensation in the roof space .. it is the moisture and the temperature difference ,, keep the moisture out and you have no problem with condensation ..
