Question

Hi,

I have a free-flying parakeet (4 years old) who I had to capture with a net on Friday (8/14), as I was moving and needed to cage him and his brother for travel. I did not notice any signs of trauma afterward, just fatigue. I tried to be as gentle as possible, but he did get his leg or legs caught on the cage doors a little going in in the cage and made a little more noise than usual. Last night (8/15) he also flew into a mirror at the new place.

Last night (8/15) he was leaning a little into his cuttle bone in an awkward position, and today (8/16) he is sitting on the pearch leaning on his left side with his head tucked back. His feet are both on the perch, but he is clearly leaning on his left and appears to be very tired. He is also swaying periodically. His beak is also darker than usual.

I called trying to find an avian vet open Sunday, but did not find anyone. Is there anything I can do for him now? I am in Fremont, CA. Thank you very much for your help!
