Answer

Hello:

It is hard to say wether this is a result of his addiction or the lingering effects of withdrawal/ As a friend be there for him, yet allow him his space. Don't take things personally unless they are on the mark. Still modertate your reaction knowing tht he is going through a rough time.   He may be eating due to anxiety or depression or to make him feel better from the withdrawal. Is it being medically supervised?-if he is worried about privacy there is doctor-patient priviledge. To be more specific people in recovery tend to return to their prior personality traits once through the acute and post acute phases of withdrawsal. Please click green "ACCEPT" button on this page if you are satisfied with my answer so that I get credit for my work. most jockeys eat and throw up there food but only perhaps 2 or 3 times aday, his habit is 8 or 9 sometimes more,i cant be there for him as a friend he wont answer my calls i just wanted too know if the 'buliemia' is effecting him mentally, his mood swings were weird, he asked me too visit him but when i got there it was like i was in his way, he kept saying he needed space,he was irratible ,if i touched him he accused me of wiping my hands on him,we "were" really close im jus trying to understand for my sake as i hav already been thru the pain of the herione addiction with him and i thought that we would be ok now,but its all gone horribly wrong again.

Hello
The bulemia is certainly effecting him mentally and physically. Of course you cammot allow yourself to be abused. He sounds as if many problems exist that are too much for a friend and laymen to handle. He may need meds to treat his mutiple problem only one of which is post withdrawal=he should see a physician.
Sincerely,
XXXXX XXXX
