I have an 86 vette with an L98 in it. It will start and run fine untill it warms up a little then it falls on it's face. It has a code 42 but has had this for some time now. It acts like it's getting way to much fuel. It will idle fine but will not accelerate.

ok the code 42 is for a problem with the electronic spark timing circuit wich can cause it to stall..when ti stalls will it start right back up?

It does't die. It just loses power and if I let up on the throttle it will stay running at idle. If you push the throttle it won't rev up it just misses and pops. Do I have an ignition module problem>

yes i will bet you do expecialy if it acts up when hot..those modules love to act up hot..and when it does act up the module will not advance the timing and it runs realy bad and pops..ect..after you pull the dist cap and you are going to inspect under the rotor and look for any thing cracked like the reluctor wheel that is pressed onto the dist shaft and also and cracks in the magnet..if that all looks good i would be replacing the ignition module
