Question

We have a 2005 Bonniville GXP with the 4.6 L V-8,
it started making a squeeking noise from a pullie on the front of the engine, I think it may be the water pump.

Hello XXXXXXX, the waterpump is actually mounted to the rear of the engine on the driver's side, so the waterpump is not going to be your issue. What I recommend is remove the serpentine belt and feel every pulley with your hand looking for one that either wiggles, binds or squeaks to determine which is to blame. Rotate the pulley on the alternator, a/c compressor and power steering pump. You may have a bad idler or tensioner. Draw yourself a picture of the belt routing before you remove it. Try to describe to me the best you can which pulley is making the noise, and I'll get you info and repair info on how to fix it.
