the motor is a 2.2 ecotec,5 speed manual. This is my girlfriends car and she thinks the fuel pump was replaced last year.
She does not have the receipt so I cannot verify this for sure.

I went to start it yesterday , and it ran for a few seconds and stalled and I could not restart it after that.

Answer

ok ,try having someone crank over the motor while you bang on the gas tank ,use a rubber mallet and see if it starts ,but first if you hear the fuel pump then you have to get a fuel pressure reading it should be 50-60 lbs,if you dont hear the pump run then tap on the gas tank while trying to start it,if it doesnt start then spray some carb cleaner in the air filter housing and see it it starts and runs for a few seconds ,that will tell us that at least you have spark, you then need to check the the injector pulse .disconnnect one of the injectors and with the key on with a test light attached to the neg side of the battery touch it to the pink wire there should be 12 volts if that is ok then connect the test light to the pos sideof the battery and touch it to the other wire on the connector and have someone crank the motor it should pulse bright.we have replaced many fuel pumps that had already been replaced ,you will have to find the receipt if the fuel pressure isnt 50-60 lbs when you turn the key on dont crank the motor just turn the key on ...guy
