Question

Dear Helpful Person,

I have a KitchenAid dishwasher, Model # KUDP01ILBS3, Ser # FR1207336. It just completely stopped like it is not getting any power. I have checked the outlet and the outlet is fine and I also tried plugging it into another outlet via an extension cord, just to be sure, and it still did not turn on at all.

I am thinking it might be the door switch, or I guess obviously a blown power board, or whatever drives the appliance (I am not technical, but love to try and make assumptions--wonder if you ever run into this type of person before!?!? Probably always!).

Is there anything I can check with minimal technical expertise before calling a repairman? Thank you so much for your assistance. You folks have been great in the past!

Sorry for the delay replying Denny. Its Mountain Festival here (we live 1/2 block from the whole thing) and I had to call the police to get someone out from in front of my driveway. Was unable to park my truck after going to the store.

Looking through the service manual it looks like your door lock switch may be out. If it does not engage then no power is fed to the rest of the system.

I have uploaded a copy of the manual for your retrival. It is a bit messed up with the page order but all pages are there.

Please click here for the download.

Go to page 14 thru 16, and you will find the instructions for getting to the switch.

Once you can access the switch you can test it for continuity. If it shows open when you press it then the switch is bad and needs replacement. If it shows good then it may only need realignment.
