Info Request

Hi There,

Is your cat male or female?
How old?
Is he or she urinating more often, or cleaning themselves often, spending a lot of time in the litterbox?
Does your cat go outdoors?
Can you pinch the skin between the shoulderblades and tell me if it snaps right back or if it sort of sinks back?

Standing by to help...

He is neutered. No, not urinating more frequently nor larger amounts. He is strictly an indoor cat...never allowed outside. No extra time in the litter box. Skin snaps right back.

Increased odor strength started yesterday.

Great,

Thanks for the info....
It sounds like he may be becoming dehyrated, so encourage him to drink water, switch to canned food for more moisture, or even give him some tuna water to get some fluids in to him. Continue to pinch him throughout the day...if the skin goes back slowly he is dehydrated.

The other possibility is that he is developing a urinary infection which can be dangerous so it is important to keep an eye on him.
The signs of an infection are frequent trips to the box with not a lot if anything coming out, or frequent accidents outside the box. Also, there could be a pinkish tinge of blood in his urine. If he starts to cry or hiss, his belly swells, he starts hiding, makes frequesnt trips to the box with not a lot coming out, or he stops letting any urine out at all it is an emergency. Not all symptoms may show, so if you notice even one, call your vet as these infections can cause a blockage in a male which can be very dangerous.

I hope this helps you, please let me know how he does!

Warmest Wishes,

Reani
