Good morning,
I'm sorry to hear of your dilemma.
The document which gives an attorney the right to represent you is normally the fee agreement. If you are talking about sending a letter to your lender because they need to know that you are represented, you can use a format similar to the following:
Date:
To: Your lender
Re. Mortgage account number XXXXXXXXXX-XXXX
Dear Sir or Madam,
This is to notify you that I have retained the following law firm to represent me in matters regarding the pending foreclosure of my property; said property being identifiable through the above-referenced mortgage account number.
Name of law firm
Name of attorney

Please communicate directly with my attorney with regard to all further actions related to the above-mentioned property and foreclosure proceeding.
