Just purchased a 2002 s60 awd, to me it feels like the transmission slips some when starting.
It has the Automatic plus the manual shift. Is this a common problem or is it the way it feels?
Also it seems to be noisy not sure what the sound is from the back. Did not know if this is due to the AWD? Never been around this kind of car. The dealer can not tell me much as they can not do much with it for there machines won't do Volvo.
So wanted to know if these are common problems or a problem at all?

Just bought, wanted to have transmission fluid checked but the local dealer can not as don't have the hoses? Also can not hook to computer to see if there are any codes.
To me it feels like the transmission slips when taking off.
Also seems noisy when starting, wondered about the AWD or maybe the tires even could be making the sound?
Want to make sure I didn't step in to a problem or something as only had a week.

you will want to have this car checked by a volvo dealer or volvo specialist as you need the VIDA computer.
It is very common for transmissions to fail in these cars. I have had rear differentials make noise, wheel bearings are pretty common especially on the front and tires can also. I would start with rotating the tires to see if the noise changes, also going down the road, does the noise change depending on road surface? swerving carefully left and right does the noise change?
noisy when starting, I just had to do a starter and flywheel due to noise while starting.
I would find a independent volvo specialist in your area or take to a volvo dealer for a vehicle inspection so you will know all that is wroing with the car.
