Hi There!!!
Thanks for Choosing Just Answer....
So let me get this correct all you want to use is a black tank? No gray water or Fresh water tank?
Thanks, Robert
OK
Very good question... This has actually been accomplished by some RV manufacturers. Nowadays it is generally not acceptable to dump gray water under any circumstances so a few RVs are being built with one combination gray/black tank. The advantage is mostly to the builder because there is less plumbing to do. But the combination tanks are necessarily larger and it is hard to find a place for them so most RVs still have two tanks.. I am not aware of any codes and this is an older unit which would be to your benefit... I personally would go with 2 tanks but I understand your position.....IF you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact me..

Another expert contacted me and advised against doing the single tank. He says it is against health code and you run the risk of putting sewage in the shower... I know in the past manufacturers have done this, I do not know what special valves were installed to make it legal. The tanks can be plastic welded it takes specialty equipment in order to weld plastics. Some RV repair facilities may have the equipment and camping world might be able to do it. I think doing the two tanks is the best option it would be allot of work to install a tank to find out there are issues....
