Hello XXXXXXX - Thank you for using Just Answer.

There is NO graceful way to ask people not to attend OR not to eat. Usually 10-15 percent of the people who RSVP do not come, so that is really your only way out. For example - when I got married 5 years ago, 100 people RSVP'd to come and to eat. I ordered extra food for 25 just in case more people came since the reception was in a public place that I worked. Only about 60 showed up, so I was left with 65 servings of food that would have gone to waste except that it was boxed up and my family split it up and took it home. This is all you can hope for at this point. When the food runs out, the food runs out. There is nothing you can do except spend more money on the extra people or go with the law of averages and hope that the percentage of no shows will work in your favor.

Good Luck and thank you for using Just Answer! Renee
