Question

I lost both the combination and key to my 5059 Brinks safe. Is there any way I can open it or do I have to go to a locksmith?

Hello XXXXXXX, and thank you for your question.

There is no way to open the safe yourself without risking damage to it, if you do not have the key.
You do not need to go to a locksmith - you can get the combination and a new key much more inexpensively by contacting Honeywell (the parent company for Brinks safes) at 1-800-223-8566

When you call Honeywell, you will need to provide your safe's model number, the serial number (usually found on the right of the safe, near the model number).
At the company's discretion, sometimes they require a notarized affidavit confirming ownership. There is also a fee for a replacement key, but it is much less expensive than going through a locksmith (who will generally just do the same thing as described above!)

I hope this information is helpful, and if so please click the green "ACCEPT" icon as this is the onlky way that I get paid through JustAnswer.
Feel free to ask additional related questions.
Thank you.
