Question

I have all hardwood floors throughout my house. I have 4 dogs and 2 long haired cats. I like bagless vacuums because of not having to go through tons of bags. Also I would like something fairly light weight and can get me easily into corners and around furniture. Am I asking for a miracle or is there a vacuum like that, that really exists? Also some sort of filter that would remove some the pollen and dander would surely be a plus.

Answer

Hi XXXXXXXXXXXX
It sounds like you are describing the Dyson vacuum. There are a number of different models one even made for pets.

I did have a dyson. It broke and will cost all most as much to fix it, as a new one. Although it was okay, it was very heavy, hard to get in a lot of places and didn't edge well. After spending over $500.00 on it, and it broke after not quite 3 years, I am not sure I want to go that route again. I have the big purple pet hair one. Also, if there was something on the floor, it didn't pick it up when running over it, you had to go in front of whatever it was and pull the vacuum back to pick it up.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck with the Dyson. We have a Miele but it's a typical canister type vac. It works great (we had a dog that sheds a lot), has lasted for 10 years and still runs fine and it has a world famous filtration system.
