Good Afternoon,

If you will give me a moment I will confirm the statute of limitations in actions for personal injuries in California.
Why is Yamaha suing your daughter?

The reason I asked you why your daughter is being sued is because (and I just doublechecked tis) the statute of limitations for bringing an acton to recover damages even where a defective product is the cause, is 2 years, unless the Plaintiff is a minor, in which case, the statute expires 2 years after the minor reaches majority.
If Yamaha is the plaintiff, then their suit is barred by the statute of Limitations; in other words they cannot sue your daughter.
Although you gave your credit card information, we do not receive credit. That is why we ask you to press the Green "ACCEPT" Button.

Good Evening again,
Rather than incur unnecessary legal fees, I would suggest you immediately call up the Bar Association in your County and ask for the "Lawyer Referral Division". A consultation with an attorney would not be more that $25-$50. You would speak to the attorney and you would know what the outside limit would be to your daughter's liability, Yamaha's time within which to sue your daughter may have elapsed and the Statute of Limitations would be her defense.
I cannot determine that because I still do not know the basis of Yamaha's suit against your daughter.
We are a group of attorneys who either have our own practice or work for a law firm. The site itself is not a law firm. That is why I suggested the Law Referral Service of your local Bar Association.
Thank you and Good Luck!
