Hello,

Can anyone help me and my son. He as court today, his lawyer make him plead guilty for something he didn't do. He suppose to have a trial on the 24th, and he was given t options.. plead guilty and probation for 2yrs with misdemenor, or wait for the trial, and if he lose its a felony. My son is not guilty..he was false arrested for robbery and assult.. the victim can't even identify him, and they kept my son for 3 months now... for all the court.. now he plead guilty because his attorney tells him to..... we have witnesses ready to witness for my son on his trial.. and lawyer still have him plead guilty.... please help me... this lawyer is lying. We told her to tell my son not to plead guilty..and even she told us outside we have a strong case and he can win...she went and tell the judge that my son plead guilty and take the deal.... please help. I dont' want this and I know my son doesn't need this but his lawyer is lying.

Thanks for your question. Your son does not have to plead guilty.He should not do so unless he voluntarily does so. But I will tell you that if he goes to trial he may be convicted of a felony. So tell him to weigh his choices but it is his to make. He can tell the judge he wants a trial here.
