Info Request

Hello Hugo,

Good news, you won't get a ticket. Now if you can remember to keep the turn signal off, you'll be good.

Now seriously, If you pulled into the shop I would preform the following tests. Scan for any codes for direction {unless the road test showed the catalytic concerter was clogging up, transmission was stuck in limp mode or the brakes were hanging} Fuel test for volume and pressure, while driving, exhaust back pressure test {not only cats clog, also mufflers and pipes can collapse internally}

I also do not know if the engine is missing. My gut tells me either exhaust or transmission.

What do you feel?

Answer

I am not thinking fuel, but without diagnostics {see above} kind of limited. Since this happened "Johnny on the spot", one other possibility could be the throttle body or accelerator pedal sensors.

I pulled up relative Tech Service Bullitan for your symptom, and there are several on transmission reprograming and one on the drive by wire throttle body and the APP sensors due to a short.

This one will need a shop. Too many variables unless you can get a scanner and read me a data stream.

thanks for ur opinion scott its been really helpfull do u think its safe to drive to a shop or tow it....

Accepted Answer

I would reccommend towing. If it is a trans issue, you don't want it to get worse, and if it is a T/B issue, you don't need a problem in traffic.

Good luck, and I am sorry, some things just can't be fixed in a driveway without "DATA"

Scott.
