Question

We just had granite countertops installed and the crew disconnected the cooktop to do the installation. I'm responsible for re-installing the cooktop. I have three wires (black, white and bare) coming form the wall and need to connect to 4 wires (green, red, black, and white) of our cooktop. Which wires go which wires?

Answer

Hello .. The usual connection would be black wall/black cooktop , white wall /red cooktop, bare wall/ white and green cooktop .. do you have a meter to check the wiring voltage ??

No. I don't. However, I know it's been working perfectly for at least the last couple of years. However, since they "unplugged" it, I didn't know how to put it back together again.

Accepted Answer

OK .. the connections I posted above should be what you want ... black wall/black cooktop , white wall /red cooktop, bare wall/ white and green cooktop
