Answer

Hi,

As you may know, some lizards are poisonous to cats, depending upon your location, and if the ingestion of this lizard or something else is causing her to try to throw up, but nothing is really coming up except bile, the best thing you can do is bring her to the vet for evaluation and treatment. I do not recommend inducing vomiting without knowing the source of the distress. If it's now after hours for your regular vet, bring her to the nearest ER vet center to be diagnosed and treated.

If she has ingested a lizard or other toxic substance or non-food item, only the vet can help her, in person, so I hope you're able to get her there for treatment, and she's feeling much better, very soon.

I know its not poisonous, I was wondering what I could give her to get her to throw up?

Hi again,

Oh, good, I'm glad you know it's not poisonous. You can give her 3% hydrogen peroxide to throw up. Follow these directions:

"Despite the label indicating that hydrogen peroxide is toxic, it is safe to give to cats. It is considered toxic since it induces vomiting and therefore does not stay in the body.

The appropriate dose of hydrogen peroxide is one teaspoon per 10 pounds of body weight. If you have an oral syringe, one teaspoon equals 5 cc or 5 ml. Once given, walk your cat around or gently shake the stomach area to mix the peroxide with the stomach contents. Vomiting should occur within 15 to 20 minutes. If no vomiting occurs, you can safely repeat the three percent hydrogen peroxide once. If it is still not effective, your cat may need to be seen by a veterinarian for stronger vomiting medication.

Once the hydrogen peroxide is given, it is important to watch your pet so that he does not re-ingest the substance. If there is concern about toxicity, collect and take a sample of the vomitus to your veterinarian."
