We have a polaris told we can no longer ride it in 'our' lake because it is a carburated 2 stroke. We are looking at a 2001 Seadoo Speedster that is advertised as fuel injected but doesn't say if is 2 or 4 strokes (Ithink most of the seadoos that year were still 2 stroke). How do we know if this boat (or any) is legal or not?

The Sheriff. The lake is a reservoir so they are trying to preserve the drinking water. The ruling is:
The operation of all carburated 2 stroke engine powered watercraft is prohibited, except:Watercraft powered by a two-stroke engine that is certified and labeled as meeting the 2006 model year EPA emissions standards, auxiliary sailboat engines, 10 horseposer or less engines, and all electronic fuel injected engines originally purchased before August 2004.
Does this boat qualify for any of those exemptions?

That's an interesting law though.
