Question

My roomate lives on the other side of the apt (hard floors in between that end and the rest of the apt) His dog has fleas but is treated every so often with frontline. However, I recently started working at a vet clinic and think I may have brought fleas home?!!! YIKES! I saw two large adults in my room two weeks ago one I promptly drowned in the sink and the other was already dead. However, I didn't get a wink of sleep the night before last even though I couldn't see anything I have been bitten by something and don't think its bed bugs because have been renting here for a few months with no issues up until now!!?! I was so mad I bleached the hell out of my sheets destroying the pattern on my comforter cover yesterday but thankfully slept soundly last night but am afraid they may be all over my room. I have bought the zodiac carpet and upholstery powder but do I have to vacate all my furniture and clothes and bedding (again!) before applying the stuff? Any tips would be GREAT!!! Tks!

Answer

The roommate needs to use Frontline plus regularly to help not only eliminate adult fleas but also to keep any baby fleas from growing up to adult stages.

I typically use Zodiac Fleatrol floor spray which kills adult fleas and keeps baby fleas from growing up because it contains the insect growth regulator Precor.

Its safe to use around furniture.

Flea eggs can even hatch out down in the cracks in a hardwood floor.

Hope this helps you!
