my cat has an open hole to the right of her butt hole. I just noticed it so I don't know how long it is been like this. Any ideas why this is like this.

Hello. Thanks for writing in. A couple things could be going on here. This is most likely an anal gland that has abscessed and ruptured. It could be a fly larvae that has burrowed under the skin or an anal gland carcinoma (type of cancer), but an anal gland abscess is much more common. I would have your vet check this out tomorrow morning. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Hope this helps.
