- One option would be to offer a small amount (1 tablespoon) of canned pumpkin or bran once per day. This will increase the fiber content in the body, making a more formed stool and result in the sense of increased need to defecate.
- Encouarged water/drinking is also recommended as the colon normally reabsorbs water in the body. If we increase water and hydration, we can then get feces to move faster through the intestinal tract.
- A very small amount of petroleum jelly is possible to be given as well. This is the base of the laxatone - and not normally give as cats do not generally like to eat this - but if tolerated, this is also acceptable!
