i have 1995 150 hp mercury outboard oil injected. my question is my motor according to my volt meter is putting out 16 volts and my depth finder keeps tuning it self off. according to the depth finder it says there's to much voltage. as far as i know it's only supposed to put out between 13 and 14 volts can you help me.

Hello,you have a voltage regulater that sounds bad,the Mercury part number is 815279T,CDI also makes onethere part number is XXX-XXXX.Replace that and you should be okay.Hope this helps.
