I am on XP pro and it keeps saying my windows installer is missing, how do I get a windows installer

Already Tried:
Firstly I went on to microsoft because an error message came up and it kept saying that to reinstall service pack 2. The guy said it would take 20 mins to put right it took hime 3 hours, and he had to restore my computer to an earlier time. Everything seemed ok until I tried to open a file I had not opened for two weeks and it would not open. The windows installer kept coming up and to get rid of it I had to to ctrl/alt/del. I restored my computer to an earlie date again and everything appears to work. Now every time I open my computer I get windows installer missiing and have to do ctrl/alt/del before i can get into my work. How do I re install the windows installer

Please download and run Widows Installer Cleanup Utlility from here

then

Download and install Windows Installer again from here

I have windows have the clean up on my computer already what do I do with it, when I open it up all these things come up what do I do with them select all clear all.

I have just tried to download the update for my windows, and it has said the setup has detected that the service pack version of this system is newer than the update you are applying. There is no need to install this update.

 

Where do I go from here

I couldnot get my problem sorted out the link to the download would not work, in the end i had to go to microsoft who went into my computer and sorted it out.
