Question

I was on my compaq pressario v2000 laptop when my screen went white. I turned it off by holding the power button down and started it again but not in safe mode. Now the screen is dark and the caps lock and scroll lights blink simultaneously. How can I fix it? Thanks.

Answer

Greetings,

In this case please turn the laptop off and disconnect the laptop from power source remove the battery and the press and hold the power button for 15 sec and then put the battery back in and try if that doesn't work try reset the ram and hdd and if that also does not work then most probably its the faulty motherboard

Or it is just a bad connection between the LCD display and the system board. I would try to reset the video connector on the back of the LCD screen first and check if it fixes the problem. After that I would try to reset the video cable connector on the system board. I would also reset cables if there is no video on the LCD screen at all.

I hope this will work..

Answer

To reset the RAM n HDD(HardDrive) you need to open the PC.. If you are not technical person.. I would suggest you to take it to any local service store.. Otherwise you may cause some serious damage..

I hope your problem will be solved soon..
