Question

Not exactly a tuning question... a friend and I were talking about an article he read that stated that in the average V-8 engine, at 6,000 RPM, the pistons(each one) was moving up and down in the clynder 100 times a second. I didn't believe that to be true. Is it?

Hello,
The crankshaft is turning 6,000 revolutions per min. Which on a v-8 would make each piston move up and down 12.5 times per second
