Question

Why can't the compressor run? It runs for few seconds and stops and runs again for few seconds and stops again ???

What kind of unit is this? How long would the compressor run ? and how long would the unit run again?

It is a sandwich salad unit, its brand is Hobart. The compressor run about 10 sec., and shut down and start again for about 10 sec. and shut down,....

So this is an appliance. I thought it is an airconditioning unit because it is in the HVAC category, anyway, The compressor can not start that is why it is tripping on the overload protector.

If you are sure that the compressor is running, then it is running but drawing too much current that is why the overload is tripping. Then the compressor needs to be replaced. And this is not a DIY project. You need a tech to replace the compressor.

Now, if the compressor is just humming and not running( vibrating), then this is a different story.

The starting component could be faulty and could just be the problem. These are the parts at the side of the compressor where the wires are connected.

Then you might as well check the condenser coil if the fan is running and if the coil is clean. These are the causes of compressor failure.
