Hi, I will do my best to assist you. When you are finished please click on accept. I don't get paid unless you do. I don't know if you are a pro or a novice so we may have to fine tune the answer. I only know as much about your problem as you have told me in your post, so my answer will be based on what you have posted. Feel free to add any additional info you feel is needed
.

For precise information on whether that will work there are only two places to get the correct information. Even a Kia dealer will not have a database of what year fits what other year. There is an industry that lives and dies by what fits what. That is the auto recycling industry. They use what is called interchange manuals. These manuals are so in depth that they tell you what year engine fits in other years, and if there are small differences they will list what the differences are.

So your best source is to call a large auto salvage for reference. Most smaller salvages will not have these guides. The other source, it to buy an interchange guide, and they are several hundred dollars each. The best approach is to call an auto recycler, and ask if they have an engine for your vehicle. Then when they give the reply, ask them what years of engines fit your model. Most of the time they will be happy to give this information. This is the only reliable source for the info you need. If you have any more questions I am here to help. Good luck, and Thanks for using Just Answer.

I hope this helps, 100% satisfaction is my goal. If the answer is not clear, please reply and I will assist you more. When you're satisfied, click on accept. I don't get paid unless you do. A bonus and positive feedback are always appreciated, good luck and Thanks.

Would the Kia dealer know the answer?

Accepted Answer

The Dealer may know approximately what years that fit, but they will not have the whole story. The reason is, they do not have to exchange engines with other years. The auto recyclers do, their livelihood depends on sales, and selling the proper engine for their customers needs. So the auto recyclers engine interchange guides are the best and only true source for this info.
