Question

I have a 1996 pajero,and lately the immobiliser has been playing up.sometimes it works ,other times it won't.It has been locking and unlocking itself whilst driving in the last few days,and a couple of times I have parked,and locked the car ,and come back to find it unlocked.

Hello and thank you for choosing Just Answer.

The first thing I would do is take out the batteries from the remote to make sure the remote is not being activated which is opening/closing the doors. Lock the car and take out the batteries of the remote.

If the car unlocks itself you have a fault control module (reciever) and will need to replace the module.

Now the remote doesn't work at all,how do I get the car started so I can get to the dealer to buy a new one.
