Question

I have 2007 650i bmw convertible. The tires on the car rear wheels are Bridgestone 275/35R19 RE050 Runplay. I bought the car brand new and have 24,000 miles on
them. Today I had them checked because I had a slow leak and when they took
of the left rear tire the tire has shredded clear through. What kind of mileage
is average for this tire and have these tires been recalled?

Hello and welcome to Just Answer.

This is just the way the tires wear. I would say average life is 18,ooo to 22,000 miles. There is nothing that can be done to decelerate the tire wear because of the suspension setup. The cars suspension is set up this way for good handeling, not good tire wear. This is just part of owning a performance-suited vehicle.
