Question

replaced gasket between transmission and transfer case. Now a new problem. when starting the truck and putting in gear the message center states "trans failure" and the overdtrive light blinks and engine light remains on. After putting in gear, transmission kick in but when pressing the gas truck looses power and will not move like being in neutral. No problems before replacing gasket. Truck is a 2005 F-150 with 5.4 4x4

Hello and welcome to JA, the first thing I would check is that the electrical connector for the transfer case is plugged in, this will cause a neutral condition inside the transfer case, and also make sure the connectors on the trans for the speed sensors were not unplugged, and not reconnected, other than that, I would need you to get the truck to an auto parts store and have them scan it for codes and let me know the codes so I can see what is going on, but check the connectors first. Also, a dumb question, did you refill the T/case fluid level, it should hold around 3 qts. of mercon trans fluid.
