Hi,

If your dog is coughing at all, and the cough and/or her bark sounds like a 'goose honk', she may have a collapsed trachea, which is not an uncommon condition in older dogs.

If her voice sounds hoarse, like she has laryngitis, she may have a sore throat, tonsillitis, or an injury to her trachea or vocal chords.

Hyperthyroidism is also more common in older dogs, and when the thyroid gland enlarges, it can press on the trachea or voice box, affecting the sound and quality of her bark.

An in-person evaluation by her vet, would be a good idea, in order to get a definite diagnosis and then treatment, if needed.

I hope all will be well.
