Hi XXXXXXX;
The usual time frame is 24 hours from the time they gas the house to safe re-entry.
Anything that you don't want very dead needs to come out of the house. This includes plants, worm farm science projects, etc.
Food needs to be in sealed containers or bottles.
Other than that just common sence is all you need. ie: you dont go into the house to rescue the pet parakeet you forgot.
Open the place up as soon as you get there and let it air out overnight.
Please post any other concerns here.
Best, THS

Do you have to wipe off all surfaces? Do you need to take out all open boxes, i.e.cerreal etc? The rep from the company just left, but I wanted to double check with you.
Thank you again.

Thank you for the accept!
Yes to both questions.
If the food stuffs are not in a sealed container. eg; factory sealed, canned, lid on glass jar with rubber seal secured tightly, or at the least a tupperware bowl with a snap tight seal not worn out. Then the food must be removed or destroyed after the tenting. Sorry but Grandmas old antique cookie jar does not cut the mustard in this case.
Those glass pasta jars with the plastic cork like seals dont work either.
Basicly the rule of thumb is if you cant put it into a barrel of water with a rock on it to hold it down for one week without it leaking, then its a no go.
It is also best if you have an infant under 2 yrs old that you remove their bedding too. This includes the mattress and blankets. The frame can stay but needs a good wiping with hot soapy water before Jr. is allowed to goober all over the railings. Run their clothes through a hot water rinse only or remove them too.
Kids over 2 shouldn't have any problem unless they like to chew on things. Anything they might chew on needs a good cleaning first. Thumbs don't count unless they are dirty anyways.
P.S. The company should provide you with a complete sheet of things like this. If they dont then ask. If they give you any grief threaten to report them to the EPA and local poison control officer. That usually perks them up.
Thank you for the compliment, XXXXXXX. As usual you were a great customer to work with. I hope to see you again in the future.
